The proof that integrative health is slowly broadening its base is the number of doctors advocating it in their practice. Thus the rise in the number of institutions offering the services fro integrative health. To secure its position in the philosophy of healing, integrative health studies is being made as an integral part of the curriculum of medical courses.</p>
<p>The purpose of incorporating integrative health studies in a training or a curriculum of advanced degrees is to link science and spirituality. As a field of study, it is taken as a systematic study of skills, values and philosophical bases which form the backbone of this emerging health care paradigm. Unifying the discipline into one healthcare theory and practice is the effect of fusing the widely accepted traditional and conventional practices of healing. The union of conventional modern medicine with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), natural, homeopathic and naturopathic approaches became possible with Integrative health studies.</p>
<p>For professional medical practitioners, integrative health studies include Masters and Ph.D degree programs. With skill and understanding of alternative traditional healing, a career path is created for those interested in advancing in the medical profession career. The development of the curriculum took collaborations with practicing professionals who had a grasp of the needs of one who is trained in conventional western medicine. If the evidences of its advancement are to be believed, then these doctors will be in the forefront of this emerging healthcare paradigm as leaders and pioneers.</p>
<p>The students benefit from enrolling in integrative health studies by learning certain uncommon therapies which are promising potential. Such can be linked to other government and private groups to ensure that the practice will be regulated, professionalized and subsidized if so needed. The processes and approaches must also be assessed for their safety. Things like these happen all the time when something develops so fast; the solution is integrative health systems.</p>
<p>To determine roles, responsibilities and outcomes, integrative healthcare systems must be established to protect public interest. Basically, there are three key groups that consists the system, namely: the patients or the users, the practitioners or service providers, and the policy makers or the government. There are fundamentally three key groups that make up the system, namely: the patients, the practitioners or service providers, and the policy makers or the government. The users or patients have the right to choose their life quality and how are they meeting the needs that go with it. No one can willfully change their decisions. The practicing professionals, on the other hand, have certain rights to access information, institutions and research resources. They are also given the right to practice more than one discipline of healing and enjoy the rights similar to other practicing health doctors. The policy makers are responsible for making a balanced and efficient allocation of resources where these integrative health systems are concerned. Accountability must be ensured. This connotes that accountability is exercised in terms of using only evidence-based approaches to warrant safety and the judicious spending and auditing of expenditures.</p>
<p>To warrant safety for the public, it takes more than identifying the key groups and responsibilities. It is also critical to lay the foundation of the systems by establishing the core values of integrative health. Just to name some, these are: accountability, accessibility, efficiency, use of evidence-based practices, and respect between and among practitioners, belonging to different cultures and traditions.</p>
<p>Integrative health systems must be able to address the many challenges surrounding the practice. One priority issue is: who can practice integrative healthcare? Doctors who pursue advance degrees or trainings in integrative health are obviously qualifies to practice. The bigger issue is the credibility of those who practice alternative medicine but who lack the training for conventional medicine. Must they be allowed to practice integrative health when in fact they lack some relevant training? This must be one of the first issues that need to be resolved right away by integrative health systems.</p>

The subject of fungal infections in general and yeast infections in particular has gotten a lot of attention lately, and as fungal infections seem less and less responsive to conventional treatment, herbal remedies are being explored. Thankfully, there are some very effective herbs and natural treatments for fungal infections. Here are some of them.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>1. Apple Cider Vinegar</strong></span></p>
<p>While a bit smelly, apple cider vinegar is a powerful antifungal. For athlete&#8217;s foot, you can soak your feet in a diluted apple cider vinegar solution several times a day, and/or you can &#8220;paint&#8221; the affected area with a cotton ball or swab soaked in apple cider vinegar.</p>
<p>For internal infections, apple cider vinegar can be consumed several times a day. It&#8217;s strong stuff &#8211; you will probably want to dilute it with water and sweeten it with raw honey or stevia, but avoid sugar sweetening. Sugar is said to worsen yeast infections, since yeast thrive on it.</p>
<p>Sources also point out that diluted apple cider vinegar can also be used as a douche to cure vaginal yeast infections.</p>
<p>Look for raw, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, as it has the most active constituents.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>2. Garlic</strong></span></p>
<p>Again with a smelly remedy! Garlic may be odorous, but it&#8217;s reputed to be a great fungus fighter. Taken internally, garlic can help cure yeast and fungal infections in the body. For vaginal yeast infections, a peeled garlic clove can be inserted into the vagina and left overnight, and the process repeated (with a fresh garlic clove) every night for about a week, or until symptoms subside.</p>
<p>Rub a cut garlic clove over athlete&#8217;s foot several times a day for topical treatment.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>3. Echinacea</strong></span></p>
<p>For more than just colds and flu, a German study has shown that Echinacea is a powerful antifungal. Taken internally, Echinacea helps clear up yeast infections and prevents their recurrence, the study showed.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>4. Goldenseal</strong></span></p>
<p>The yellow root of this plant contains berberine, which is not only an antibiotic but an antifungal as well. A diluted tea made from the roots could be used as a douche or foot-soak for athlete&#8217;s foot, or the diluted tincture could be used similarly. It can also be taken internally, but not for more than three weeks or so (after that, it might affect intestinal flora).</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>5. Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)</strong></span></p>
<p>This somewhat controversial antifungal remedy is alleged to be quite potent. It&#8217;s controversial because the active constituents have not been thoroughly identified, but it&#8217;s been shown to be quite effective at treating fungal infections, both topically and internally.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>1. Lemon Balm</strong></span></p>
<p>In Germany, the antiviral effects of lemon balm are well-documented, and creams made from the herb are prescribed for herpes outbreaks and cold sores. Lemon balm is very easy to grow in your garden &#8211; a little too easy, in fact, as it tends to take over if not contained.</p>
<p>Lemon balm makes a very good tea, and can be drunk to combat all sorts of viral infections, such as colds and flu. The tea or a cream can be applied to cold sores or other viral lesions, such as shingles or chickenpox.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>2. Astragalus</strong></span></p>
<p>This lesser-known immune enhancing herb is known as huang qi in Chinese medicine. The root is sweet, not unlike licorice, to which it is related. It has been shown to be a very effective antiviral herb, particularly in the prevention of colds and flu, and may even be effective against the Coxsackie B virus (this virus can cause an inflammation of the heart).</p>
<p>You can simmer slices of the root in water to make a healing decoction, or you can use the commercially-available tincture. It is generally agreed that astragalus should be taken as a preventative rather than once the illness is in full swing, so if you think you&#8217;ve been exposed, or you experience the very first twinges of illness, you can start taking astragalus.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>3. Garlic</strong></span></p>
<p>No discussion of antiviral herbs would be complete without mentioning garlic, an herb that is antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal. It&#8217;s not expensive, and you can use the whole herb or take capsules. However, many experts agree that &#8220;deodorized&#8221; garlic may not be as effective as the unaltered herb.</p>
<p>You can simmer minced garlic in chicken broth and sip it to stave off colds and flu. Raw, minced garlic can be sprinkled over salads and tossed with pasta. Be careful with consuming too much of it raw, though, as it can cause severe nausea when taken in this form.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>4. Ginger</strong></span></p>
<p>Long ago, ginger was considered a &#8220;warming&#8221; herb that would prevent nausea from a &#8220;chilled stomach,&#8221; which was said to occur when large amounts of cold water were consumed in hot weather. We now know that ginger has powerful anti-nausea action, and it is also anti-viral.</p>
<p>Teas made from fresh ginger are palatable and spicy. You can sweeten them with raw honey for added germ-fighting benefits and flavor. When you feel the very first stages of a cold or flu, try drinking some of this tea several times a day. You can even drink it as a preventative if you think you may have been exposed to any viruses. Ginger is considered quite safe, although it is not recommended for pregnant women.</p>

<p>Since most types of mold are relatively indistinguishable from one another, it may be difficult to tell which are toxic and which are not. The best way to ensure the safety and good health of the occupants in your house is to prevent all types of mold from infesting in your residence by taking the necessary precautions and preventative measures. Wooden walls, wall paper, thermal insulation between walls, carpets and moldings are the most common places for mold to grow. The first indication of a mold infestation may not be visual and may even take months to become so. A musty, strong smell that can be classified as earthly is often the first noticeable sign of a mold infestation within a building. Once this is noticed, it is necessary for the residents to start looking for the source as even though it is invisible, it may be considerable large. Look for water leaks, damp walls, soggy areas on carpets and warped and darkened wood as these are the most well known locations for mold to grow on.</p>
<p>The next step would be to prevent the pores from spreading. Mold spores are tiny and often invisible to the naked eye. In order to prevent them from spreading on to the surfaces of other furniture and the walls of other rooms, it is necessary to not expose the infested area right away. Covering up the furniture and cutting off a small piece of the suspected infected area for initial inspection is the best way to start. However, it is necessary to refrain from making any physical contact with the growth and to make sure that food is safe from the spores. When it comes to toxic mold the best way to remove it would be to physically scrub it away and disinfect the area. If the infestation has taken on an invisible area such as underneath the floorboards or on the inside surface of wall paper, it all has to be taken apart and treated by brute force.</p>
<p>Your local health department or a professional in the field of mold removal is your best hope if the infestation appears to have taken place in large proportions. Make sure to act immediately and to dispose of all removed traces of mold to prevent future infestations.</p>

Reactive hypoglycemia can be puzzling at times because some people show symptoms  that closely resembles the condition, but not necessarily suffering from reactive hypoglycemia. Individuals affected by reactive hypoglycemia symptoms must think of consulting a doctor to get the appropriate intervention. <p>Add to the diet some exercise so you can really enhance your health condition. To further prevent reactive hypoglycemia, stay away from alcohol which can worsen the situation. Try to keep your blood sugar level at moderate levels for healthy living.</p>
