Looking Back at Reiki’s Beginnings

When you know more about Reiki’s History, then you would know why nowadays, a lot of people had become interested in this ancient form of healing. As with many form of Asian healing, it employs the use of touch and specifically the touch of the palm, in order to encourage healing and relaxation.

The history of Reiki encompasses both of its western and easterninfluences. Similar to other forms of Asian healing, the western approach includes the traditional practices of Reiki which at the same time, adding more techniques of massage and touch. The fact of the matter which is to, as much as achievable, regulate circulation and assist the human body to heals on its own remains to be visible whether the approach is eastern or westernized.

The early history of Reiki involved a healer’s instincts on where to place the hands on those who needed healing. Specific teachings on the areas of the body that were believed to have more energyand healing abilities have not been conducted.

Today’s history of Reiki involves more instruction on certain areas of the body that encourage blood circulation and energy. A student is taught various techniques for pressure and is taught various areas of the body with pressure points. This is to promote circulation which in the same manner becomes a healing property for the body.

The modern history of Reiki was initiated in Hawaii, then through California, and finally throughout the United States. Few Reiki practicesvaries in our present times and some make use of the psychic surgery. a psychic surgery is when a person should concentrate relaxing their mind so the body can commence a healing of its own or facilitated by the healer.

It is evident that today’s history of Reiki demonstrates the innovation of the practice through time. However most teachings still embrace the idea that Reiki or healing energy is inexhaustible so that a healer may continue to help someone through their entire ordeal.

Understanding the history of Reiki should give you an insight as to why some believe in this practice, whether in its purest eastern form or with the western forms employed by many today. In general, helping a person heal
