The History of The pH Miracle Diet

pH Miracle DietThe human body is an amazing contraption. Not only is it able to function with little help from us, but it can also work to balance itself if given the right resources. Our body is designed to be healthy and to be high-functioning as its primary focus is to live and to reproduce.

The pH diet may not always have been on the bookshelves of the local bookstore, but it does have a history that stretches far back into time. Before we were able to conceive of the idea of pH, our bodies understood what they needed and what they needed to correct imbalances.

pH Miracle Diet – A Healthy History

Back in the prehistoric days of man, man used to only have certain foods available – even fewer if he was unable to catch his next meal. As a result, man was able to stay alive because the foods that were needed to balance his pH were all around him. These foods are natural, wholesome, and easy to prepare as well – all good things in the times before microwaves and fast food.

We find it difficult at times to remember that the people of the past were not able to have access to the foods we do today. Since they were a primarily hunter and gatherer society, they had to work hard to find food to eat and to put away food for the winter.

Today, we can go out and buy nearly anything we want, whenever we want.

Before the time of convenience, prehistoric man used to eat just vegetables, fruits, and meats when possible. This created a very basic diet that allowed for nutritional needs to be met, but also for health and strength. The people of the past were a very active people and they needed a lot of energy to keep up with their lives – but even still, the foods they had readily available provided all they needed and more.

pH Miracle Diet – How the Modern Diet Changed Us

The modern Diet began once modern man learned to make stone tools and then found ways to prepare grains they grew. As they continued to refine the tools used to process and to prepare grains, the grains became even more abundant. Grains were easy to grow, easy to prepare, and helped to add a little variety to the diet. They could also be easily stored and saved for times when food supplies were scarce.

pH Miracle Diet – History

Once livestock became a part of the culture, man also began to see that not only could these animals be used for meat, but milk was also a valuable product. Thus, man began to introduce the idea of milk, cheese, and other dairy-based foods. This extended the reach of their resources, but also introduced the idea of more acidic foods. Cattle were also used to supplement meals with larger cuts of meat. And when the cattle were fed with grains, they tended to fatten up more easily, making them even more satisfying to eat.

Add to these innovations the use of salt in the diet for preservation and flavoring and you can see just how easy it was to continue to change a fairly balanced diet into one that was much more out of balance. Foods weren’t necessarily created with health in mind, but more for helping out with hunger.

Of course, one can not deny the introduction of sugar and its continued presence in the Western Diet.

What all of these foods have in common is that they began to take away from the original man’s diet what was healthy and balancing. Meats, salts, sugar, and grains are all acid-producing foods in the body. They have lower pH levels, so they change the pH level of the blood to being more acidic.

And as these acid-causing foods have been introduced, fruits and vegetables and legumes have all become less and less a part of the modern diet. Of course, these healthy foods are alkaline and help to restore the balance of pH in the blood stream.

Robert Young began to see this pattern of events in the modern diet and decided to propose a new eating plan which would work with the pH levels of the body in mind.

The pH Miracle Diet does not follow the same old diet advice so many of us have learned recently. There is not a focus on meats or on eating as much of one food as you possibly can. Instead, there is a focus on rebalancing the diet and getting it back to where it once was with the prehistoric man.

After all, mankind has made it this far. It only makes sense that the diet had something to do with this success.
