Is the pH Miracle Diet Right for me?

pH Miracle DietAs with any change you want to make to your diet, it’s a good idea to think about yourself and whether you are a good match for the sorts of lifestyle changes you need to make.

After all, if you don’t have time for the four hours of meal preparation each day, chances are good you won’t stick with the eating plan.  Before you begin the pH Diet, here are some things you will want to consider in relation to your life and to this diet’s needs for a successful outcome.

pH Miracle Diet - Time Factor

Not many of us have a lot of time to spare anymore, do we?  We seem to keep looking up at the clock and finding that days have become hours, hours have become minutes, and minutes have become seconds.

As a result, if our diet isn’t going to fit into our schedule, it’s not going to be a good fit.

The pH time has pros and cons when it comes to the time factor and plausibility.

The pros are:

  • Can make simple recipes – Most of the recipes you will find in the pH Diet book are simple and can be made in minutes, or at least in no more time than you would have spent on your regular diet plan.

  • Can make recipes ahead of time – You can make larger recipe portions and save leftovers to help you save time during the week.

  • Recipes already gathered in book – Since you don’t have to search high and low for recipes, things are a bit easier with the pH Diet plan.

  • Can adjust recipes you already have – Instead of starting with all new recipes, you can adjust the recipes you already use each week, helping to ease your transition into a lower acid lifestyle.

But as with any good thing, there are some time problems with it comes to the pH Diet:

  • More shopping – Since you want to be in control of the foods which go into your mouth with this diet plan, you will have to head out and do some shopping.  This can take up time as getting produce and ingredients for meals might not fit into a busy lifestyle.

  • Requires cooking – If you’re not already a cook, learning how to cook on this plan is going to take up a lot of your time.  This is not going to work for those who just do not have the time to spare.

  • Convenience foods are not a part of the plan – Those who have families who are accustomed to eating convenient foods which can be made in minutes will not enjoy the time it takes to make foods as opposed to heating foods up.

While none of these pros or cons should make up your mind completely about the pH Diet, it’s always a good idea to know what you and your schedule may be getting into when you sign up for this plan.

pH Miracle Diet – Too Complicated?

Of course, since the diet focuses on eating only from certain food groups, things can get a little more complicated than you might like.  Some people find that restricting their food groups can become a little too much for them.

In the pH Diet, you will need to make sure you are eating more alkaline foods and less (if any) acidic foods.  On the surface, this doesn’t seem very complicated, but in practice, if you’re not a person who likes to have things which are off the menu, you might find this to be ill-suited to you.

But is this really all that complicated?  Not really.  This diet simply wants you to focus on more alkaline foods.  So, actually, it’s pretty straightforward with plenty of room for interpretation and for experimentation.

The only complicated-ness lies in how you prepare your foods and whether you like the foods that are available for you to eat.  If you don’t like alkaline foods, for example, you might find this diet to be a little more than you can handle.

pH Miracle Diet- Food Supply?

The main ingredients of a pH Diet plan are vegetables, fruits, and legumes – that’s it.  This is a pretty easy grocery shopping list, true, but can you find all of these foods easily?

Yes.

You can find all of these ingredients as your local grocery story or health food stores.  In addition, even if you want to buy organic versions of these ingredients, you can find most of them at the local grocer where you already shop.

The only trick is that while beans can be stored in bags or cans, the produce will not last as long.  It’s a good idea to make sure you’re buying only what you need for a few days and then shop for fresh produce once you run out.  This seems a little time consuming, true, but avoiding the cost of produce that spoils may be worth the effort.

pH Miracle Diet - How Much Will It Cost?

The cost of the pH Diet doesn’t have to be outside of your budget.  Fruits, vegetables, and beans are actually quite inexpensive, allowing you the change to buy what you need when you need it, without spending hundreds of dollars a week.

By cutting down on the convenience foods you eat as well, you will find you are saving money each time you head out to shop.

Now, as with all eating, planning ahead of time for your meals can help you cut costs even further.  Buy only what you need and then you won’t be spending on things which sit in the refrigerator or pantry without being enjoyed.

pH Miracle Diet - When You Need to Check with Your Doctor

Like with any significant diet change, you might need to schedule time with your doctor if you have certain medical conditions:

  • Heart disease
  • Kidney disease

You should also check with your doctor if you are taking any prescription medications for a chronic condition.

While the pH Diet is a healthy choice, it can cause your body chemistry to begin to change. Though this is meant to be a good thing, for some who have body chemistry issues (ex. heart disease patients can have troubles with their potassium levels), this diet might cause harm.

Your doctor can sit down with you to assess the risks for you and to see whether there is another version of the pH plan you might be able to use.  Or your doctor may just want to monitor your blood levels more frequently to ensure nothing is being changed which should not be changed.

Often, the weight loss and health benefits of a new diet plan will outweigh any risks, but it never hurts to talk with your doctor to allow them to make that decision for you.

Is this diet plan something which will work for you?  Now you have the facts to consider.  As with any diet plan, you need to recognize what you need from the plan and what you are willing to do in order to be successful.

If you can’t follow the plan, you might want to start looking for something new that will be more successful.
